Zen products are formulated by a world renowned herbalist and naturopath specialist using a hybrid of herbs used in Traditional Chinese and Ayurveda medicine. Zen has a range of products to support topical pain relief and injury repair ensuring you can stay pain free and live an active life.

Who We Are

Rod Berger B.App.Sc. (TCM).ND is a Naturopath and herbalist specialist. He completed a Bachelor of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1987 and also that year his diploma in Nutrition and Western Herbal Medicine. After further study he also completed Naturopathic College in 1992.

Rod then travelled to China for post graduate TCM study at the Guangxi College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nanning. He learnt how Eastern medicine addresses both important joint & muscle symptom relief combined with the principals of balancing energy, strengthening organs and building reserves within the body.

In 1990 Rod was working in clinics in Queensland, whilst teaching at the Australian School of Eastern Medicine and Arts. It was during his time in Queensland in the early 90’s that he discovered a lack of products readily available to the public based on Eastern principles. He used his knowledge to create innovative formulations using a hybrid of Chinese and Aryuveda ingredients to provide more than just pain relief but the opportunity to repair joints and muscles from injury. It was the success of these formulation that Zen Therapeutics was born.

In 2008, Martin & Pleasance Pty Ltd acquired Zen Therapeutics, however Rod is still heavily involved in all new product development and many customer queries.
